Volunteer
Volunteering with Coventry Cyrenians is hugely rewarding. Being a volunteer:
- Builds your confidence and self-esteem
- Gives you new skills and provides valuable work experience
- Offers the satisfaction of doing something worthwhile
- Benefits your community
- Introduces you to new people and experiences
- Shows your commitment to doing good and helping others
- Is fun!
As a volunteer, you’ll directly support our work and help us to do more, by making our resources go further. We have a range of volunteering opportunities for you.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss our volunteering opportunities, please email us at volunteering@coventrycyrenians.org. Or call 024 7676 9782 and ask to speak to our volunteering team.
We’re looking for volunteers to work on reception at our Head Office. It’s important to us to be welcoming to those who need our support. You’ll meet and greet members of the public, service users and professionals, and respond to their enquiries, take phone calls and do general admin duties as required.
We have many collection tins ready to distribute across Coventry and Warwickshire. You’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with local businesses, such as hairdressers, newsagents and restaurants – so a friendly and welcoming manner is important!
If you’d like to volunteer as group, why not get involved in:
- Charity tin collection: collecting spare change at events
- Gardening: we have started to plant fruit trees and some small crops in gardens and we would love to have you support our residents as they learn to tend their gardens.
- Decorating the shared spaces in the homes we provide: All service user bedrooms are tended by us, but when volunteers decorate shared spaces such as lounges and kitchens, it shows people who live in our accommodation that they are part of a caring community.
- Christmas present wrapping: In December, we need help wrapping the numerous gifts donated to us.
