What we do
There are three key strands to what we do:
As a landlord, providing accommodation to a high standard for people at risk of being homeless.
Supporting our residents to build the everyday skills they need to become independent tenants.
Helping them to cope with the cost of living.
This is how we provide more than just a safe roof. Our housing support team work with residents, tailoring the support we provide to each person’s particular circumstances.
If you come to us for support, we first assess your needs to see if we can help. Once you have a Coventry Cyrenians home, we allocate a trained support worker to work with you to devise a personal plan to prepare you for moving on.
We’re also developing peer support workers – people who share your experiences of life and now find themselves in a position where they can draw on those experiences to help you.
We provide a range of support for our residents while they’re with us, including:
- Finding training and education opportunities.
- Support with managing debts and other money issues.
- Practical help with moving on from our service into independent tenancies.
When you’re ready to move to your own tenancy, we’ll help you navigate the bidding process on HomeFinder or point you toward sympathetic private landlords. Your support plan will include details of the people and agencies you need.
In this way, three quarters of all our residents become successful tenants when they leave us. Read more about the impact of our work.
