Staff Member Reaches 30 years Long Service

Congratulations to Jo Page who has reached a long service milestone of 30 years working for Cyrenians!
Having moved offices 10 times around the City, Jo has had various Administration positions over the years and now has the role of Executive Support Officer. She was presented with £200 worth of vouchers by Chief Executive, Caron Williams.
I am proud to be sharing my 30th year with Cyrenians 50th year! In September 1993 I was 21 and homeless with a 16 month old baby, staying in a hostel in Nuneaton. I was looking for part-time work and I was grateful to be offered a role with Coventry Cyrenians who helped me get back on my feet. I absolutely loved it in comparison to anywhere else I had ever worked, and enjoyed working for a worthy cause, so I never looked back.
It has been a very interesting journey, I have seen so many staff come and go (and come back again!) and experienced the highs & the lows. The services change every few years depending on funding and adapt to what is most needed in Coventry & Warwickshire. I have made life long friendships along the way with staff, volunteers and ex-service users. The only sad thing is that the homeless situation is now even worse than when I started, which only proves that our charity is still very much needed, so I will continue to sail the Cyrenians ship until it is time to walk the plank!
