This week is Voluntary Action Coventry’s 65^th Anniversary and to celebrate they held a ‘Sapphire Awards Ceremony’ at the Telegraph Hotel, which was enjoyed by all the charity organisations & volunteers who attended.  We are especially proud of one of our Coventry Cyrenians Volunteers of 7 years, Somya Mishra who was runner up in the category “Impact of volunteering on an individual”. She was very pleased with her beautifully engraved sparkly gem trophy, and very humbled & honoured by the recognition received.

SOMYA came to the UK in 2015 and started volunteering every week with Coventry Cyrenians in order to build confidence and network. We are incredibly grateful for her ongoing commitment. She has developed a real interest in supporting people on their journey to a secure home. Cyrenians accessed training for her and she gained a Peer Support Worker Qualification. Congratulations Somya you are now officially one of Coventry’s Precious Gems!!
