COVENTRY UNIVERSITY STUDENT VISIT

Student representatives from Coventry University attended Cyrenians to donate items that had been donated by students at Coventry University. They chose Cyrenians as a charity as they wanted to complete a community project and a member of their team wanted to focus specifically on homelessness. After researching local charities in Coventry who tackle homelessness they agreed on Cyrenians due to our core aims and objectives.

The students attended Oakwood house to present the donated items and learn more about the services that we provide. James Forsyth, Team Manager (pictured below left), and Izzy Hawkins, Operations Manager (pictured below right), led the talk and answered any questions the students posed to increase their awareness and knowledge about homelessness in Coventry and how Cyrenians help their residents.Cov Uni Visit 1

The students were informed of how important donations are to the service and why Cyrenians rely on donated food for residents and clothing for Windsors and Refreshed. They were then taken to Windsors and Refreshed to meet Jenny Sheridan so she could provide a tour of the shop and show where their donated clothing would be displayed and sold to help fund services across Cyrenians.

Further talks are taking place on how the students can continue to donate to Cyrenians.

Cyrenians and the residents are grateful for the items received and would like to thank all who donated.
